Four promising players from the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) coaching programme in Eastern Province were recently given new sets of golf clubs to assist them with their progress. The players were all chosen for their commitment and obvious potential.

Eight-year old Candy Africander from the Northern Areas, 11-year old twins Lonwabo and Lungelo Gidane from Motherwell and Luthando Minnie, also, from Motherwell, were thrilled at being presented with the equipment.

"All four of the recipients are players who have shown dedication and have made steady progress in the coaching programme," said the SAGDB's manager for EP, John Bailey. "This was our way of showing all the players that there are rewards waiting for them if they work hark hard and are dedicated to the sport."

The four received their new sets after a recent SAGDB tournament sponsored by the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Local Organising Committee for the 2010 World Cup. Two of the sets were donated by the EP Golf Union, while the others were from SAGDB stock.
