| Cedric and Jacquin top Boland u/23 selection |

Two of the SAGDB's most promising graduates have been selected for the Boland u/23 team for the third successive year. 22-year old Cedric Rooi from Worcester and 21-year old Jacquin Hess from Robertson were ranked first and second on the Boland u/23 order of merit when the team was chosen for this year's inter-provincial event.

The 2011 Boland u/23 Championship in Ceres proved to be a showcase for the work being done by the SAGDB. Past and present players in the SAGDB's programmes in Boland and Southern Cape turned in an incredibly positive showing to take home most of the prizes at the event.

Rushane Peters knew he would be up against it when he entered the Fish River Sun Junior Open this March. With the top U-14 players in the Eastern Cape competing, the SAGDB player from Port Elizabeth knew he would have to bring his A-game to the Fish River Sun Country Club if he wanted to make an impression.

14-year old Rushane Peters is quickly becoming one of the most promising young golfers in the Eastern Province region. The member of Humewood Golf Club is is comfortably leading the provincial u/14 order of merit and is continuing to record excellent results in junior golf tournaments.

The legendary Gary Player coined the phrase "The more I practice, the luckier I get". The nine-time Major Champion also said you could play golf anywhere, even in a parking lot.

| Zethu earns her colours |

18-year old Zethu Myeki plans to become a doctor. Her future patients should however be warned that if they are unable to get hold of her, it's probably because she is on the golf course.

The SAGDB is a non-profit organisation (with section 18A donations tax exemption status). Through its PGA-approved coaching programme, the board currently has the capacity to coach 1,500 children per week in nine areas. The SAGDB is sponsored by SAA, City Lodge and ProRange.
